One Program:

Des Moines Master’s Commission (DMC) develops uncommon leaders in vocational and non-vocational ministry.  We are committed to producing disciples and leaders who are recklessly abandoned to the cause of Christ.  These leaders will impact and righteously invade the world around them.  Master’s Commission is a proven model worldwide and has even spread across denominational lines.  DMC started in 2003 from the vision of Pastor Michael Lumbard… it continues to produce world changers.

One Vision:

In short Master’s Commission is an intense discipleship and ministry training program.  Although many MC programs vary in appearance and action there is one heart and one vision, to know God and to make Him known.  We believe DMC is a breeding ground for world changers.  These world changers go against the flow of the world and against the flow of normal Christianity.  DMC is a place where God’s destiny can meet your reality.  Destiny is more than just a dream or an aspiration of what you may do or become later in life.  Destiny is what God has planned for you even before the creation of the world.  DMC is a place where lives are changed, foundations are built, destiny is found, and world changers are born.  Students come in one way and leave never the same.  We are convinced that if young people could know who they are in Christ that they would be dangerous.

Two Churches:

The idea to expand Des Moines Master’s Commission came to Pastor Michael Lumbard and Pastor Curtis Arne early in 2007.  Their thought was to base DMC out of two churches, Eastwood Church of the Open Bible and First Church of the Open Bible, in Des Moines, IA.  It would continue to be one program with one vision, but students would be split up to attend either church for services and then come together for the DMC weekly schedule.  A proposal was sent to Master’s Commission International Network and this unique model was approved in April 2007.  These two pastors have always been Kingdom minded and they prove this once again by combining resources and passion to disciple the next generation.
